The University of Georgia marked its participation in the INADR - International Law School Mediation Tournament with the outstanding achievement: team representing our law school ended up in final rounds with 4 other teams and managed to win its final game against the Queens University Belfast.

The contest took place in Athens on March 14-17, 2019 gathering 52 teams representing law schools of world’s leading universities. Team from the University of Georgia was the first team to compete from Georgia.
It is also noteworthy that the team advanced to the semi-finals in both categories: as mediators and as negotiators. Only three other teams from the USA managed to advance to semi-finals in the same manner.
Our team comprised of three students: Mariam Turmanidze, Lasha Lursmanashvili and Ana Jikia, and the coaches - Nata Sturua and Ana Khurtsidze. We appeared to be the only non-native speakers’ team in the final round where we managed to take 2nd place. In the category of negotiators’ teams top four teams were: Toronto University – 1st place, the University of Georgia – 2nd place, the Queens University Belfast – 3rd place and Berkley Law School – 4th place.
Yet another outstanding achievement, positive feedback, together with the world’s best teams this time in the final round...
We managed to prove to the world that there is bright future awaiting the mediation in Georgia and we continue to prepare future generations with this faith.
