Student Scientific Conference in Law

On March 3, a student scientific conference in the field of labor law was held at the University of Georgia, bringing together students, representatives of academia, and the business sector. The event was organized within the framework of the BMO Partnership Project, in cooperation with Bauverbände NRW e.V. and the business association “Business Georgia.” The conference opened with presentations of students’ research papers.

The BMO Partnership Program was established by the German private sector to strengthen its involvement in German development cooperation and to support the sharing of knowledge and experience. Within this partnership, “Business Georgia” and the German construction association Bauverbände NRW e.V. are implementing a three-year project aimed, among other goals, at supporting student development and organizing student-focused events.

During the conference, participants learned about German experience in occupational safety and labor law. The sharing of international practices proved to be a valuable resource in aligning Georgian standards with international approaches.

The second part of the event was held in a round-table format, where participants discussed legal assessments of occupational safety violations, including cases that may lead to criminal liability. Law students presented research on current labor law issues, after which a special commission selected the best papers and an engaging professional discussion followed.

The conference aimed to raise awareness, analyze labor market challenges, and support the integration of young professionals into the professional environment.
