On March 16, the new academic semester officially began at the University of Georgia. The university welcomed students with its traditional “Welcome Back” event, a long-established tradition aimed at celebrating the first day of studies in an energetic and friendly environment.
" ‘Welcome Back’ is a traditional event of the University of Georgia, which has been held for years to mark the first day of the academic year. This activity plays an important role in ensuring a positive start to the academic year. We offered students a memogram machine for memorable photos, various sweets, and most importantly, a cheerful and unforgettable atmosphere,” said Tornike Tsulukidze, a representative of the University of Georgia’s Student Affairs Center.
Considering that the University of Georgia brings together more than 6,000 international and Georgian students, such events help foster closer connections among them and encourage the establishment of future relationships.
“For me, as a first-year student, this experience was new and memorable. I was welcomed with a very warm and pleasant environment, which I did not expect, since after enrolling at the university we had already had a Welcome Party, and I thought that would be the only event. It is important to continue your studies with positive energy after exhausting exams, and I am very happy to have become part of this friendly environment by choosing the University of Georgia,” shared Natali Patashuri, a first-year student of Public Administration at the University of Georgia.
