On November 7, the School of Health Sciences of the University of Georgia hosted the mission of the WHO Global Noncommunicable Diseases Platform (GNP) under the leadership of its director, Mrs. Svetlana Axelrod. The representative of the WHO Deputy Director General's office, Mrs. Téa Collins, and the head of the Platform's Policy and Advocacy, Mrs. Daria Berlina, and Kakha Gvinianidze, representative of WHO Georgia office, were also in the delegation.
Guests were introduced to the school's staff, educational programs, achievements and future plans. At the meeting, opinions and proposals regarding future cooperation were expressed regarding planning of joint studies, organization of accredited joint short-term training courses and, in general, expansion and deepening of cooperation with WHO.
