Legal Approximation with the European Union: Dynamics and Practice-LAWP9091
Irakli Samkharadze, an Associate Professor in EU Law, holds an LL.M. in International and European Public Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and an M.A. in Constitutional Law from Tbilisi State University. In 2020, he defended his Ph.D. (summa cum laude) at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, with his doctoral research supported by prestigious international placements as a DAAD research scholar at FSU Jena, an International Scholar at KU Leuven (Belgium), and a postdoctoral researcher at Freie Universität Berlin. Irakli Samkharadze is the recipient and lead of multiple international research grants and projects, frequently commissioned by the European Union, development banks, and international donors. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), with extensive experience in cross-border project design, leadership and implementation. His research and publications focus on EU law, climate and energy governance, and human rights in environmental law, with works published by Springer, Wolters Kluwer, Edward Elgar, Elsevier, and other leading peer-reviewed journals. He has authored numerous book chapters, encyclopaedia entries, and policy papers, and is regularly invited to present his work at international conferences, academic forums, and expert workshops. He currently, in parallel with his academic career, as an Energy Advisor at OMNIA GmbH (Germany), where he supports partners in designing and implementing reforms for sustainable, competitive, and transparent energy markets.
