Anguli Kavtaradze is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Georgia. With over 50 years of experience in the fields of art, choreography, and pedagogy, he is a distinguished Georgian choreographer and cultural figure. He earned his education at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani State University (M.A. in History) and at Tbilisi Sergo Zakariadze State College of Culture and Education (Choreography), dedicating his professional career to the development and promotion of Georgian dance.
He is the Founder and Artistic Director of the renowned ensemble Kavkasioni, which, under his leadership, has won multiple Grand Prix awards at both national and international festivals and competitions. He has also served as Chief Choreographer of the Abkhazian State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, worked as a Guest Choreographer for Fire of Anatolia, and directed the Republican Center for Aesthetic Education at Georgia’s Ministry of Education and Science.
His contribution has been recognized with numerous state and professional awards, including the Order of Honor (2001), the Order of Excellence in Choreography (2014), and the Order of the Knight of Georgian Dance Art (2023). His creative and pedagogical work spans masterclasses, productions, and educational programs across Europe, the United States, and Asia, while he has also served as a jury member and chairperson at many international and local competitions.
