Professor Fariborz Sharifian Jazi has once again brought a prestigious honor to the University of Georgia. This time, he was awarded the Global Gold Medal for an Advanced Bone Scaffold at Kingston University, London, United Kingdom.
Professor Fariborz Sharifian Jazi, recognized as one of the top 2% most-cited scientists worldwide, represented the University of Georgia from the country of Georgia, with official affiliation to the University of Georgia. He participated as part of a six-member international research team from Georgia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. The team successfully won the Global Gold Medal and the Special Award at the International and Specialized Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations (ITE 2025 London) in the fields of Dentistry (Implants, Nanocomposites, and Biomaterials) and Pharmacy.
The awarded project was entitled:
Production and Development of a Chitosan-Based Nanocomposite Scaffold Reinforced with Magnesium-Doped Hydroxyapatite and Specific Bioactive Agents (Icariin, Lithium Chloride, and Naringenin) for Bone Tissue Regeneration Using 3D Printing and Electrospinning Techniques.
